While the sun sets
Between the end of the day and the beginning of the night, Aruba shows off another of her beloved island happenings: spectacular sunsets with colors aflame and sublime: voluptuous purples, screaming oranges and streaky yellows with a touch of grey that only a sunset can present without looking gaudy. It’s a time that often goes unnoticed and yet a time to cherish.
Plan to be where the seeing is best - anywhere along the beaches from the low-rise hotels to the high-rise group and all the way to the California Lighthouse. There are many ways to be more than a spectator watching the razzle-dazzle presentation that’s happening across the western horizon.
Perch on a bar stool at a hotel beach bar and sip your favorite cocktail. Plan a trip aboard a sunset sail and/or a dinner cruise; champagne tastes even better when you’re on the sea. Perhaps ride up to the California Lighthouse where the view is panoramic; a perfect picture-postcard sight.
Following the sunset showtime, consider a dining spot that features outdoor dining on a pier, on a veranda, on a deck or under a palm-leaved hut and salute the oncoming night followed by a leisurely moonlit dinner. Do consider dining on the beach. Several
resorts can arrange for your own table and your own attentive waiter delighted to serve you.
The aperitif is the sunset; your dinner is perfection under a glittering carpet of stars, dessert is a decadent descent into the tropical night.
