Energy Preservation PDF Print E-mail

The serious worldwide situation with the cost of energy skyrocketing daily has also, of course, affected Aruba. We politely request that you join us in our efforts to save our energy.

Please turn off the lights when you leave your room as well as the air-conditioning. It only takes a few minutes for it to cool the room upon your return. If your hotel does not allow it to be turned off, please turn it down. If your air conditioning is on while you are enjoying the fresh clean air of Aruba on your patio or balcony, please keep the door closed in order to keep the air conditioner from having to increase power due to warm air coming in. Aruba has the safest drinking  water in the world according to the World Health Organization due to the distillation process at the water plant in Balashi. Please drink the water!

There is no need to buy bottled water. Or buy one and refill it from the tap. Less waste from empty plastic bottles and a savings at the supermarket. Our annual and very successful beach cleanup, 2008 had 850 volunteers including many visitors, is another way to help Aruba stay clean and dushi (sweet). Please do not dump your trash on the beaches or when you travel around the island or from a boat. The shimmering turquoise waters should be free of plastic, paper and metals for your enjoyment.

As is also prevalent worldwide, our environment is becoming more fragile, please treat the island with the respect it deserves.

Thank you so much for your caring and cooperation.
